Worth Square (Broadway and W. 25th St)
12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
For the fourth year in a row, record label Music Starts From Silence will host the exciting Mass Appeal Gong Ensemble. New this year is a special collaboration with Tom Tom Magazine (A Magazine About Female Drummers). The performance will feature Tom Tom Magazine artists and the New York percussion duo Loop 2.4.3, alongside Mass Appealers in an epic street performance. Carroll Music’s vast collection of gongs from around the world, ranging from 6″ to 60″, will be provided for participants. First performance is 12 p.m. – 12:30 p.m., and the second performance 1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. The public participants will have an opportunity to explore the instruments in between the two sets.
Instruments and other support for this project generously provided by Carroll Musical Instrument Rentals, Brooklyn-based record label Music Starts From Silence, and Tom Tom Magazine (free copies available at the event).
