JJ Jones
JJ Jones is an internationally touring, Berklee-trained drummer and educator offering private instruction on drums via Skype or any kind of video chat. There’s no travel involved, you play on your own drumset, and it’s as easy as sitting down and opening your laptop. JJ is a fun and encouraging teacher who brings an infectious joy and passion about music. She says, “I love to see people achieve something they never thought was possible. That transformation is just as much of a thrill for me as it is for them. I’ve had students hug me with tears in their eyes after playing their first show, saying, ‘Thank you, thank you,’ and I can say with all honesty, there’s not much in the world that’s better than that.” While JJ teaches all ages and genders, she especially encourages adult women to learn.
Shanna Doolittle
Shanna Doolittle (Santa Barbara, CA) has over 20 years of experience teaching beginner and intermediate drums. She has taught at a number of Girls Rock Camp programs, Youth Music Project, Drummer Town, Revival Drum Shop and Rhythm Traders. She is currently in the two-drummer band STLS and plays drums at live performances of Hurtr. She believes everyone can have fun while being challenged to develop drumming skills, coordination and creative thinking. Steph Barker
With a degree from Berklee College of Music and extensive touring experience, Steph is uniquely qualified to teach all levels of drumming. Before relocating to LA, Steph was a drum instructor at Bang! The Drum School in Manhattan. She provides her students with a strong foundation in technique, rudiments and reading notation, while also keeping her lessons fun and personalized. Mickey Vershbow
As one of the few female drum teachers working in Brooklyn and NYC, Mickey Vershbow specializes in teaching drum lessons to women and gender non-conforming students of all ages who want to learn to play drums in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Mickey’s goal as a teacher is to equip students with the technical skills, personal motivation, and creative tools to discover and develop their own voice. She guides students towards reaching their own musical goals while also helping to influence, inspire, and expose students to new ideas, techniques, and styles. Students will develop a strong practice routine, set goals, and apply skills creatively by playing along with songs, creating their own ideas based on examples, and “jamming” in lessons. Lindsay Artkop is a Pro Drummer and Educator, who offers private lessons, drum clinics, and master classes. Misia Vessio
Misia Vessio is a drummer/singer-songwriter from Queens, NY. A recent graduate of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, she is a working musician in the NYC area. She has her students learn jazz standards of all kinds: jazz medium and uptempo, latin, ballads, etc. Musicians need to know the music and the artists that came before them in order to become the best musicians they can be. She makes sure to have them watch and listen to giants like Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Buddy Rich, Max Roach, Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, and so forth. She also shows them other genres of music: Rock, Pop, Funk, and Afro-Cuban.
Zel Kaute
Zel Kaute (London, UK) is a qualified and experienced drummer & drum tutor. She has over 15 years experience as a music tutor in schools as well as privately – her lessons cover everything you need to achieve your drumming potential and are tailored to suit each student’s individual needs. Fully CRB/DBS checked with current certification, available to present upon request. She previously facilitated free drum workshops for beginners, and have taught groups of up to 20 people the basics of drumming within a matter of hours. She’s an endorsee for Vater sticks and Meinl cymbals, as well as a current contributing writer for UKdrummer.com She has a Higher Diploma in music and drum performance from London College of Contemporary Music and can teach grades as well as technique, styles & rudiments etc. Whilst studying at LCCM, she was also part of the LCCM drumline who were the marching band for the UEFA final opening ceremony at Wembley stadium.
Grace Goodwin
Grace started playing drums aged 7 and pursued a music career from an early age in her hometown of Liverpool. She has 14 years of experience drumming. After completing a Music Technology A-Level, she has gone on to study BA Hons Popular Music at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts where she studies and plays a wide range of genres. She is the regular drummer for Feral Love (Formerly Bird) and Ellie Keegan. Her work has been featured on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio Merseyside. She is based in the Northwest and is available for function work, studio sessions, live work and teaching in Liverpool, UK.

Revival Drum Shop (Portland, OR) offers a spacious lesson room offset from the main shop, designed to be a comfortable atmosphere for practice and teaching. The room is outfit with two matching drum kits, each with professional cymbal packs. Looking to brush up on some rudiments or just jam for awhile?
