All Sid wants to do is play the drums. When she hears that the most popular band at her high school is looking for a drummer, she jumps at the chance. She knows she’s better than the competition. When she auditions, the guys in the band know it too, but they’ll only let her in if she admits she’s a dyke (which she’s not, she just likes carpentry and drums and baggy jeans) or she has to get a “hot” new image. She decides to sacrifice her identity and get a makeover, which results in a whole lot of unwanted attention and sexual harassment. She learns a lot about herself and the issues that many girls face when they try to conform to others’ standards. But don’t worry, she still keeps rockin.’
