Want your kids to be the next Terry Gross, Ira Glass Audie Cornish or Jad Abumrad? Taught by professional lady radio journalists (Ladios), Ann Heppermann and Sally Herships, campers will learn the public radio style of storytelling and journalism. They’ll explore weekly themes, like neighborhood, family and Me!, while also having fun learning real world editing software and recording equipment and creating their very own radio stories! Thanks to the generous folks at Hindenburg students can download editing software and get an early start on their radio chops as soon as they register. (Parents, if you want to try your hand at audio editing with Hindenburg, we won’t tell.) Students will explore what it means to find their own voice and gain confidence as they learn to speak into the mic. At the end of the week every camper will go home with a CD holding their finished radio story. And don’t worry moms, kids will also get fresh air and a chance to be active every day. Sorry parents, this is kids only- At Radio Camp kids hold the microphone!
