I am sts, program director for the Portland, Oregon Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls and drummer in the band STLS. Drummer 2 Drummer interviews feature an interview exchange between younger female drummers who may or may not know each other. This will hopefully inspire and encourage girl drummers of all ages around the world–there are girls playing the drums everywhere!

Favorite memory of playing the drums Probably receiving them on Christmas day!!

1.What’s your favorite drum beat? The rock beat probably
2.How long have you been playing? About 4 years
3.Have you ever gone to Rock Camp for Girls? 3 years or so, I went to another school but it wasn’t as good as RR for Girls
4.What’s your favorite band? The black eyed peas
5.Do you play any other instruments? Yes I play the saxophone
6.What’s your favorite food? Least favorite food? Favorite food would be sushi least fave is Grilled cheese
7.What’s your favorite color? Blue!!!
8.Are you in a band? No but it doesn’t mean I don’t want to be…
9.Why did you choose drums? It sounded mega cool, and it isn’t a very popular instrument for kids my age

Monica asks Eleanor
1. How long have you been playing? Four years, since I was 6.
2. Do you play any other instruments? No.
3. How did you start? I started after my sister Una’s band “Blubird” left the drum kit out after practice, and I started playing them. Then I started taking lessons from Rachel Blumberg.
4. What do you want to be when you grow up? Do drums have anything to do with what you want to do when you grow up? A chef. Drums don’t have anything to do with that. But I will still play them.
5. Are you part of a band? Yes. The .Zombie Tomatoes.
6. Did you play drums before rock-n-roll camp? Yes.
7. If you could play for any band, what band would that be? U2.
8. What makes you want to keep playing? It’s fun.
9. What do your guy friends think about you playing drums? I don’t have any guy friends.
