In celebration of our Digital Issue release, check out this quick list of folks who are taking full advantage of the resources the digital age has to offer!
Get into this fire mix put together by Venux X & Asmara:
The world’s first video magazine EWE Zine launches March 21st on YouTube and at ewezine.com. Forget everything you thought you knew about magazines.
EWE Zine is a new independent magazine for people who don’t follow the crowd. We never write about things, we film instead, publishing our magazine on our website and YouTube, making us the world’s first video magazine.
EWE’s unique format of video has many benefits, helping to bring to life the magic of music where people can hear tracks first hand, rather than through a secondary media source as with traditional print magazines.
You can watch a preview of the magazine here.
EWE Zine had a free launch party today, March 20th, at The Book Club, Shoreditch EC2A 4RH.
Keep an eye out for more on EWE, this is for sure not the last time you’ll see them on the Tom Tom site!
Female Frequency: Screaming A Whisper EP
Female Frequency is hosting an open forum for remixes of our original song “Screaming a Whisper”! This track, released on March 8th, International Women’s Day, was produced by women from start to finish, from writing, performance and instrumentation through engineering, mixing and mastering.
Female Frequency is an all female music collective co-founded by Dani Mari, I Am Snow Angel, and Claire London. Every aspect of the music-making process for our EP including (but not limited to) writing, instrumentation, arrangement, audio production, vocals, mixing, mastering, and the creation of accompanying visual media, has been carried out by women. The EP features I Am Snow Angel, Dani Mari & Claire London and involves female audio engineers from New York, Boston and Los Angeles. Screaming a Whisper also includes drums by Kiran Gandhi, aka “Madame Gandhi”. Ongoing updates on Female Frequency — including information about collaborative workshops for women in the music industry — can be found at FemaleFrequency.com
Mashene Radio
Music, art, and ingenuity is the focus of Phaxas’ and Heather Holiday’s hour-long look at how women shape the world of electronics.
If you’re in the Miami area on April 6th check out Mashene radio’s party ‘Pumps’ at The Electric Pickle. Keep an eye out for more on Mashene via Tom Tom as well. This is for sure not the last time they’ll be on our web page!
