This is LA. Being so, it was to no surprise that the 7th Issue Magazine Release party last Saturday was nothing short of awesome. Filled with some familiar folks, the night brought in many new faces – eager to listen, drink, pick up a mag, and revel in the festivity. It was a warm night on the busy and lively Hollywood Blvd. Freak City housed the event and provided that air that most people associate with this unrivaled city: Chill yet electric. The bands couldn’t have made you feel more at home: even if you’re not from here. It was the raw and groovy freshness of Gothic Tropic, the inventively wild and badass tunes of Deap Vally, and the sultry and melodic sound of Spirit Vine that gave life to the party and showcased not only the talent of the band as a whole, but also of the person that this magazine represents: the female drummer. It only made it more fun to have had O.N.E. Coconut sponsor the event with an open bar and Sabra with some yummy hummus. The boys from Jam in the Van also came out to film one of the bands in their ridiculously rad RV –something that you seriously have to see to believe. If you missed out this time around, I exceedingly suggest that you turn up for the next one. You will not be disappointed. – Lajoie De Vie Girges

Does anyone know if a bum ever drank the bottle of whiskey/piss that we left in the alley?
Somebody should tell them they got Punk’d if they did…
