Tom Tom had the great pleasure of being the guest of Leah Shapiro’s – lady warrior behind the kit of rock and roll’s beloved Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC) for their performance at Orange County’s Observatory on August 5th. Shapiro came out fierce, pounding out the hypnotic rhythm of Beat the Devil’s Tattoo, which quickly set a fire underneath an already impassioned crowd.
With her counterparts, Robert Levon Been and Peter Hayes at the helm, the band bled out two hours of rock from their souls with a focused and steady, Shapiro fixing her stare onto the audience as if leading them in a religious ceremony that they obediently followed. – Jenifer Marchain
