I play a lot of Brazilian music so I use the “bass” drum which is called a tan tam on my lap and play the shell with brushes…(Left hand plays the bass drum) and then I use a snare, ride and hats to balance it out. I use bongo as toms and of course my trusty cajon comes in handy for a variety of musical styles…
